Altazamuth House is situated near the Altazamuth Stone which was used to determine the Latitude and Longitude of the World in 1862. The Altazamuth is a theodolite type intrument (invented by Olaus Römer of Copenhagen 1690) when set at a point Valentia (51.55.51 North, 10.17.43 West) and the Ural Mountains in Russia using trigonometry and two stars they could determine the size of the Earth.
